Back when I was at university in the mid 2000s, I dug an Apple Extended Keyboard out of a dumpster, bought a $7 USB keyboard and a cheap USB hub, pulled some USB connectors out of various other hardware and hacked them all together with a stack of wire into a fully working USB keyboard. I believe it is one of a very small number of keyboards that have been USB-ised by rewiring their matrix and adding a keyboard controller from another keyboard. This keyboard has since been rewired to use a Teensy LC as the controller running QMK.
