Followup: Scott Wiener is widely perceived to be the frontrunner. Who do you think has a better chance to beat him head to head in November (regardless of whether they’re the candidate you prefer)?
Chakrabarti

Chan

I'm surprised so many followers support Scott Wiener. I must not be talking enough about how he opposed a Gaza ceasefire resolution:

Co-authored #AB715, which conflates criticism of the Israeli government with antisemitism and censors it in schools:

And hounded an Asian-American UCSF doctor out of her job for expressing concern for Palestinian students:

Disqualifying.

@scott It’s gonna be a ranked choice ballot right?
@janxdevil No, elections for Congress in California are not ranked choice. They use the "top two" system where the two highest vote getters in the primary go on to the general even if they are the same party. It is therefore almost certain that two Democrats will go on to the general in San Francisco, in this case probably Wiener and one of Chakrabarti or Chan.
@scott Well fuck. That sucks.
@scott I guess people missed the part where Scott Weiner couldn’t call a genocide a genocide.
@scott Do you share my perception that Saikat is doing a lot more outreach than Chan? Canvassers at farmers markets and going door to door for example. I saw a Saikat placard on the door of a bakery in Chinatown...
@nodename I could believe it. Saikat’s signs and canvassers are more visible in the Mission for sure.
