Gender queerdos of the world unite! (Or something)

Do you feel like your gender is "I dunno, I'm just me," and not "I am a woman" or "I am a man" or "I am non-binary" (etc)? Does it bug you that there's no word for that?

Let's fix that problem.

What's a good word, probably a neologism, for "My gender is me?"

I thought of sugender and suigender, but the first is already a person's name in some cultures, and the second has unfortunate resonances with self-harm.

What do you think? What's a good word for that?

Autogender - LGBTQIA+ Wiki

Autogender is a gender experience that is deeply connected and personal to oneself. It cannot be described with existing terms due to how deeply personal the experience...

LGBTQIA+ Wiki

@PurpleStephyr Nice, that's a good alternate for suigender.

Interesting rhyme with autigender, which is what started this whole conversation off.

@PurpleStephyr I thought about using that term a while back but then couldn’t stop giggling about TRANSformers and autobots. 😅@taedryn

@taedryn joke answer: Tom Bombagender (for the lotr nerds)

Not have a lot here but i have used like "hobbygender" in a conversation trying to describe how i feel like my media consumption hobbys are the majority of my personality

@taedryn Wait wait, I went to build this word, and I found it. "Autogender."

Which, funnily enough, sounds a lot like "autigender" if you say it with the right accent. 😆

Autogender

Autogender is a gender identity in which one's gender experience feels deeply personal to themselves but is too difficult to accurately describe with previous gender terms. Autogender can be used interchangeable with egogender. The prefix auto comes from the Greek word for self. Egogender

@taedryn And now I see this conversation was already had. 🤣

@taedryn it me.

I generally go with gendermeh or genderfucky depending on if I’m in my usual ‘gender indifferent because it’s just me’ mode or if I’m more in my gender transgressive mode.

@SaucySwampHag Interestingly, I described myself to a friend as "genderfucked" 11 years ago, well before I ever came out to myself as trans. I was trying to express the way I wasn't a man, no matter the evidence to the contrary. I was so young then, but also I've kinda circled back.
@taedryn susgender
@avatastic Interestingly, that's a term I decided was better than "egg" a few weeks ago. 😆

@taedryn ah, but did you do it with the sound effect?

I'm okay with the term "egg", because eggs are delicious.

maybe i am an egg?

#NotAnEgg

@taedryn @avatastic I'm almost certainly gonna steal this in casual, more reflective contexts.
@taedryn I've used "per" and "person" before to describe my gender.
@taedryn

Gender-independent? That's all I can think of off the dome.

I'll see what else I come up with.

@taedryn

There's also "agender" for folks who don't identify any particular which way with gender in general, but autogender is probably more specific to what you're looking for.

@taedryn I am imagining a YouTube channel “Will it gend?” with the high enthusiasm the Blendtec geeks brought to their work.
@taedryn "I am a <insert name of speaker here>"
I feel this way when asked my ethnicity. I often just tick other and put my name.

@taedryn I just simply link to The Video* every time it comes up

*no longer on youtube and now only exists as a vimeo link

@taedryn agender
@taedryn why the fuck has no one else said this
@lucasmz @taedryn We have a hidden agender.
@lucasmz At least for myself, I'm not describing agender. That's a familiar term to me, and it's not accurate for what I was going for: I have a gender, it's just that my sense of gender is essentially "me" and not "woman" or "man" or any other category I feel I can fit myself into. That includes agender.
