#StopScanningMe
@echo_pbreyer if we beated this we can beat the other obstacle so chat control 2.0 y'all fucking ready?

@Kurosetii @echo_pbreyer chat control 2.0 was mandatory scanning, that has been dead in the water since the danish presidency removed it from their regulation after public pressure

this was their backup plan, it failed too. what will they try now πŸ‘€

@synnef @Kurosetii @echo_pbreyer Most likely, these starving people will try to pass it behind closed doors. If they tried it with the previous proposal, they will probably try again. We have won the battle but not the war. We must keep a close eye on these starving people.

@iguana09863 @Kurosetii @echo_pbreyer yeah, that's what they already tried when they changed it from "service providers have to scan messages" to "service providers have to take all appropiate measures to detect CSAM, which may include scanning". for every time we push back against Chat Control the subsequent attempts become less and less legitimate in the eyes of the general public and lawmakers/parliament

i wonder if they'll come out with the sniffing dog excuse again and pretend they can detect content in encrypted communications without breaking the encryption. don't say it too loud or you'll give them ideas
