Welcome!! What are you interested in? There are a lot of communities here, but unfortunately not quite as many as the other place. >_> However, it’s easy to create new ones!

To contradict what the other kind commenter said, for an app I recommend Boost for Lemmy. ;)

Nice! So (assuming you’re on a PC), you want to click on “communities” at the top and then search for whatever. I personally like these ones: Bandcamp, Music, Indieheads, and anime. Remember to click “all” when you’re searching!

probably, but I use Boost so I can’t help you haha. Surely someone else will chime in, but I’m sure with enough poking around on the app you should be able to find it.

On Voyager, just use the search button with the magnifying glass on the bottom right.
