A question for other people who do Enigmarch or online puzzle hunts: What do you prefer to do when a puzzle involves a crossword grid and delivers the grid as just an image? Do you print it out, or solve it in an image editor, or reproduce it in a spreadsheet, or what? What about when it's not a square grid, like it's triangles or curved paths or something?
@CarlMuckenhoupt if solving with a team, I usually try to recreate it in a spreadsheet, or sometimes Google Drawing if it's particularly non-rectangular. Otherwise I just print it out. I might try Excalidraw next time though.
@CarlMuckenhoupt Can attest to the prevalence of the spreadsheet method, at least within the communities I'm a part of
@CarlMuckenhoupt I usually take a screenshot on my phone and scribble over it in the photo app (or sometimes on desktop, but phone often turns out to be easier)
