Eastern Ontario is now heading into the interstitial space of ***the thaw***.

My partner insists that, when the snow is melting more often than falling and the sap has started running in the sugar bush, we’re heading into spring. My coast-raised self is having none of it.

The Canal is closing, grooming of the natural ice rinks and paths in neighborhood parks is coming to an end. It’s been a good season, close to the historic average, but it’s still difficult to see the ice go.
