@rbreich Teachers can have such an impact of student's lives, but are paid subsistance wages. How is that right or fair?

…because they're so underpaidIs incomplete. They're underpaid and expected to pay for classroom supplies and other materials out of their own pockets. That's akin to a developer being asked to provide their own laptop and require that said laptop have massive specs.

There was a time when I thought American movies were fiction. People who have two or three jobs and work all the time, then someone gets sick and - happy ending - is saved by crowdfunding. But then I realized that this seems to be the reality and everyone there thinks it's normal.
