I saw a collective doing a 4-course meal “gastronomical club night” for 65 euros and I think we have completed the circle of gentrification and are now being gentrified out of our own gentrifying culture
I mean I come from a rather easy background myself but I cannot splurge 65 euros. What alternative are exactly offering if this is alternative culture? An alternative where capitalism is cool and trendy instead of boring and dull?
I mean I’m sure the people who organise it are lovely and have good intentions and I’m sure the food is great and that to pay your collective and cooks and food correctly this must be the price or something but it tickled my goesting voor een beetje te ranten
No fuck it I’m owning this bring shame back fuck this shit I want everyone to be able to partake in fun things not just people who’s dad drives a bmw x5
Ok so some extra thoughts: 1) I don’t respect the grift 2) maybe my non-respect for the grift is a sign of privilege to start with? 3) I like natural wine, so if this was the moment one would be throwing a stone, Jesus would not allow me to
