There is no more honor in being a Scout.

As of a few days ago, following pressure by the Department of Defense, the Scouts of America caved - and followed delusional "news" anchor Pete Hegseth's demands. The following will now get you kicked out of Scouts:
Being trans
Being a girl
Being gay
Being non-binary, even if at birth.
Which, by the way, means that I will get kicked out of Scouts if certain things are discovered about me.
But that's fine.
Because there is no more honor in being a Scout.
A scout is friendly. A scout accepts people no matter what they are.
Trans, female, gay, non-binary, whatever they are.
A scout is kind. A scout treats people with respect no matter what they are.
But these recent changes completely undermine the values of scouting.
Another one of Delusional Hegseth's demands are that they must remove the Citizenship in Society merit badge, a badge about inclusion and diversity. It will be replaced with a Military Service merit badge.
It is no longer the Scouts.

@charcole I thought they were forced to comply with getting rid of their DEI stuff but that they also removed everything saying you had to be a "boy" to be a scout, & that they insisted Scouts of America would continue to be for all youth, not just "boys".

@jackemled Unfortunately, that did fall under DEI. However, I also realized that I did some bad research (I hastily made this post - Scouting holds a place in my heart as what was once one of my greatest choices) - while you won't exactly be kicked out, since DEI is no longer a part of Scouts, trans and gay scouts are being targeted - and might get kicked out in the future (come on, it's Hegseth, he already banned trans people from being in the military.)
