I started reading Neal Stephenson’s Snow Crash again. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snow_Crash It’s a great book, I also have the anniversary hardcover version.

I can also recommend Paolo Bacigalupi’s The Water Knife https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Water_Knife for glimpse into a possible future

Lastly you should read Octavia Butler https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octavia_E._Butler

I really enjoyed The Parable of the Sower and the Parable of the Talents, and then the Lilith’s Brood Trilogy.
