@BrianJopek My late father had rough-and-tumble hill-country habits, flew the B26 in WWII, qualified as a professional on the GI Bill, and was a staunch Republican all his life. He wasn't a fan of the Birchers, but took his views from conservative media, and I've often wondered what he would make of the Trump circus. I honestly haven't been sure. Could have gone either way.

This would have broken him. He'd say these people were crazy and that Trumpism was a criminal con.
