“A key Taiwanese opposition party will only agree to pass as $40 billion special defense budget if the U.S. formally announces a second arms package reportedly delayed over concerns it could scuttle a U.S.-China summit.”

That’s like biting your nose off to spite your face, isn’t? Plus, I reckon the US will want to respup their ammo, etc. given the amount they are expending in the MIddle East.
