hot (non-serious) take: If your distro's package manager is more than 3 characters, it sucks
@Starcross
Apt also sucks.
@Paradox disagree on most parts of it but like,
apt update && apt upgrade
is so bad
@Starcross
I don't mind that as much, but when I tried to main drive Debian, much of my issue came from apt being very wishy-washy with package installs.
I hated wanting to install software from there and it conflicting with another package. No info on how to resolve that, whether I have to fix a version number somewhere or what. So I had to compile that shit myself, just to see what the issue was. I'm not sure that ever worked, or was ever worth the trouble.
@Paradox Package conflicts sounds like you were using a lot of PPAs or DEBs.
PPAs may mess with dependencies, while DEBs may not install because they require packages that may not work for Debian as they're tailored for a newer Ubuntu

I'm using Mint now, but I'll keep this in mind if I try Debian again.
@Starcross Debs, yeah. I don't know how else I'd have installed stuff. I thought it was basically the exe/msi of Debian.
