I'm starting a tradition that whenever I fact check something because I just want to confirm if it's true, I'm going to relay what I checked, what I found, and what my conclusions are. First up, saw this posted

I searched and found it repeated without sources. I found one repeated with a different study, and a source provided for the different study, but not the banana one. I can't disprove it, but I have to rate this one as unsupported, but am still open to a study existing.

A fun sidebar. In searching, I use multiple search engines. Switching over to Google it provided its annoying AI summary. I usually ignore it, but having no luck, I took a look at what it had to say

It claimed it came from the 1996 book Competing for the Future. However, that's completely false. It is ironically confusing it with the Five Monkeys experiment the AI summary itself says this claim is "often confused with"

(I also found the book and checked myself)

@ellesaurus Thank you (for fact-checking and summarising in general, let alone to this extent). 💚
@amenonsen Here and there I just so this for myself, and had the idea that it light be interesting share, if only to have a history to reference. Happy it you or anyone else finds them interesting or useful!
