Why is it impossible for the US to go a single presidency term without murdering people in the Middle East? What is with this infatuation US politicians and so many citizens have with bombing people in the Middle East?

Is this some remnant of Medieval Crusade mindset? Or is this just pure bloodlust for the death of people on the other side of the world?
