What is your favourite Canadian film (and are you Canadian or not)?

@ShaulaEvans Speaking as a non-Canadian who's been mistaken for being Canadian on at least a couple occasions, Strange Brew (1983)
@ShaulaEvans I'm not a film buff and don't seek out enough Canadian films, but the first one that popped in my head for shitpost reasons was Fubar.

@ShaulaEvans

The first one that comes to mind is 'Men With Brooms' (2002).

(Not Canadian.)

@ShaulaEvans I tried to answer this by filtering my Letterboxd list of watched movies by Canadianness, and the resulting BEWILDERING list causes me to wonder what makes a movie Canadian, really? The production company or studio has to be Canadian? The director? The primary shooting location?

(Technically my answer to ‘are you Canadian’ is equally complex: yes, apparently I am retroactively Canadian, tho’ I have yet to prove it!)

@ShaulaEvans BTW, using my best guesses of what constitutes a Canadian movie, my answer is either Black Christmas (1974) or Enemy (2013). I guess I like creepy Canadian movies!
@ShaulaEvans I remember enjoying "Highway 61" and I've been trying to track it down for a while. More recently "Scarborough" really got to me. (And I'm Canadian.)
@ShaulaEvans Exotica
@ShaulaEvans oops, i misread that second part as "whether you're Canadian or not". no, i'm not Canadian :)
