I despise it when anyone says anything close to “thanks for choosing ____!” Or “Thank you for your business!” at any sort of chain or multimillion dollar company.

We all know it’s fake, none of those employees actually give a fuck. It’s demeaning to your employees to demand false cheer like that and I dislike the company more when ever it happens.

I would prefer a helpful rude employee than a useless sycophantic employee.
