Blåhaj Lemmy - Choose Your Interface

Have you tried talking to the admins first?
I do intend to send them a DM soon, but defederation happened first so we don’t have to deal with the harassment accounts and so users don’t have to be exposed to all the abuse.
AFAIK the only active admin (who is also the main admin account) was already instance banned from Blahaj for transphobia - so there wasn’t an easy way to talk to the admin in the first place … (at least not from an account on a Blahaj instance)
Defederation is not punishment, nor is it permanent. It is a reaction of self defense and can be reversed later.
Good decision. Thanks. <3
What the hell. Ty mods

Couple of quick questions:

  • Are you sure you defederated? I can see this just fine.
  • Can you provide me with some examples of the admin here being transphobic? I’ve been on this instance for a long time and I’ve stayed specifically because I haven’t seen anyone being a dickhead. If it’s happening I’d like to know about it.
  • I think this was the last post that went through before it was. You can see your reply doesnt appear on their side

The transphobic thing was something that happened maybe a year ago or a few years ago with Snowe and the harry potter game. Things got patched up though and people here arent transphobic

For the spam wave theyre talking about here weve been banning account as they pop up but if you see anything report it

Thank you, and continued thanks for not stealing my username (yet)

Dang. I’d always used programming.dev as a verification instance to ensure my posts were migrating across the fed. It’s a shame to lose them as a resource.

    ( ( looks at modlog… ) )

Well ok then. No regrets here.

How can you see another community’s modlog?

Go to the instance (programming.dev) and at bottom of page it will say “modlog”.

Theres also “instances” which is fun to look at and see which servers are federated and defederated from a given server

That seems to be showing me the modlogs of all instances, not just programming.dev
Thanks! I keep forgetting the bottom of a page will have content too, instead of it just scrolling forever. I’ve caught current-year-itis.
    You can go to programming.dev/modlog
That seems to show every insurance’s modlog, not just programming.dev
Pretty disappointing from p devs side
Same on our instance. It’s ridiculous
love to see cross-instance collaboration 🫡

    dang

I’ll miss the programmer memes but that’s the smallest price to pay for community safety

    Thanks, admins!

    (thadmins)

thanks for keeping us safe! also if sounds like respectful and constructive exchange with the admins of their instance which is also great to see!

    Well done.

Please continue the good work you’re doing to keep the community safe from these trolls until the admins on that server can find a way to keep them out.

Let us hope the solution is easy to implement on their end so they don’t suffer unnecessary sleepless nights over it.

May we soon see them refederated. :)

Hello, its none of my business, but I wouldn’t refederate just because the admins seems cool. They might be ‘disavowing’ rather than giving an actual apology.
And if the issue isn’t fixed, then they can be defederared again. None of this is permanent
If we’ve defederated with them, then how come I can still see posts at lemmy.blahaj.zone/c/[email protected]?

Defederation means nothing new is sent or received between the defederated servers. Anything old remains.
