Three copper plates of the Native American Mississippian Culture, pre-16th century AD
Looks very mexica.

Despite not being in central America there is a lot of similar motifs between the Aztec and Mississippian culture. Aztec culture was 1300 to early 1500s. Mississippian was from 800 to 1600. All of Aztec culture fits inside the end of Mississippiian.

I wish we had a better understanding of trade routes throughout different periods of pre Columbian America.

Mississippian culture:

Do you think the Aztec came from Mississippi?
From? No. There are clearly a lot of design elements from South America cultures that predate both. But there was definitely some cultural influence.

Hmm the Aztec story is that they walked south following their leader for a long time. Then when they found an eagle perched on a prickly pear in the middle of a lake, that was the sign. They stopped there, named it tenochtitlan and yada yada yada Spanish, yada yada yada Chinese silk road yada yada, Mexico, south America, the Philippines, more yada yada, 13 colonies, the USA.

They did a lot of yada yada back then.

At first was all “oh no. There are going to be historical errors and speculation” but as I kept reading it I saw that you got it exactly right.
LOL… In September 25, 1793…nothing weird happened exactly over this couch that I’m sleeping on. With me so far? Then the next day again nothing. A kid got a couple of birds with one stone and started propagating that myth. Other than that and a corps flower flowering in the Amazon somewhere, nothing noteworthy happened that year on my couch.
