@timpeix @marcoarment @whenney @atpfm Literally came here to make this same suggestion while listening to the episode (and would love a co-credit but that’s not how that works LOL)
It works because:
- cobranding
- leans into the reality vs aspiration vibe
- easy to remember
- doesn’t clash with the Other One
Now I’m starting to think of the Marco Oversuite:
- Overwrite, your notes but with git-level transaction logging
- Overdone, a gamified time & calm manager
- Oversight, a goldilocks zone between magnifier apps and camera apps
- Overseer, a control panel for non-tech parents to manage content control on open-source (WRT?) routers
- Overcook, finally, a recipe app that lists instructions against a timeline, not a magical numbered list with variably sized tasks
- Overjoy, a cut-down social media & news feed that autoblocks anything that isn’t fun or wholesome or cute animals
- Over’t, a basic and friendly checklist scanner (and reassurance tool) that recommends safer privacy options like password managers (unless it’s a bad one), search engines, DNS servers, mail servers … this is like that XKCD comic where we think “okay we’re experts but everyone else knows at least X and Y” and no they don’t.
@whenney @timpeix @marcoarment @atpfm okay definitely like these!
- Oversubscribed: if this can be low-friction automated somehow, yeah I think I’ve heard of existing apps like this
- Overwhelmed: Works like an answering machine, but also for DMs? Not just emails.
- Overton: gotta love this but what does it do? Maybe it can be a sister app to Overjoy, where you set your Overton Window for a news feed. Unlike Overjoy I dunno if it could be done with on-device LLM analysis. Would have to plug in to Ground News perhaps? The one thing I wish Ground News would do is create private social media feeds for their customers — I like their service but it doesn’t integrate into my existing feeds. I don’t want one more feed (refer to “we need a new standard!” “okay now we have 14 standards”)
