Neither this meme, nor I, have said they are the same. There are many notable differences. Biden, for example, was the 1st president, ever, to walk a picket line with striking workers. Purely symbolic, but definitely better than Trump, who has done more to destroy the labor movement than any president since Reagan. Biden also didn't initiate any wars of regime change as POTUS, though he certainly supported them in congress and supported genocide in Gaza as POTUS.
What this meme, and i, are saying is that both parties serve the interests of the rich and not those of the rest of us.
Purely symbolic? He saved the teamsters pension fund. What this meme is doing is generating the exact kind of apathy that let the fascists take over.
Biden releasing nearly $36B to aid pensions of union workers
President Joe Biden's administration is providing nearly $36 billion to shore up a financially troubled union pension plan. The federal aid is intended to stop severe cuts to the retirement incomes of more than 350,000 Teamsters workers and retirees. The Biden administration says it's the largest-ever federal payment to a union pension fund. The money for the Central States Pension Fund is part of a broader $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package that Biden signed into law in 2021. Retirement plans have been under financial pressure because of underfunding and other issues. Without the federal assistance, Teamster members could have seen their benefits reduced by roughly 60%.
@HakeemG its logic (or lack there of) like this that facilitated the rise of fascism, the demand that we always vote Dem, regardless of how little they do for us, regardless of the wars and Genocide they support, regardless of their corruption, regardless of their gifts to the rich, regaled of their fecklessness in supporting marginalized communities.
