Im so angry and frustrated. Open source is under attack, computer hardware prices are being driven up (i think on purpose) so no one can afford them. Governments are age verifying everything. Android is going closed off.

How can we fight back? I feel a call to arms or something of that sort. Im a developer and I feel like FOSS development are gonna be who shape the future of tech.

Use mesh networks, use decentralized software as much as possible, if possible donate to open source projects! We must fight back for the future we want not the ones the powers that be want for us!! #rant #ageverification #opensorce #freedomfromoppression

@Froogal it's a frustrating battle since even the people closest to me can't jump to open source or decentralized platforms. The main reason is cus all of their networks are there, be it personal or professional. Oh and how everything is monetized......... posts, reels, referrals... Although that's coming from a 3rd world country.

There must be another influence or incentive to sway a population to move. Based on my personal sways with friends, holding a personal seminar about data privacy isn't enough. They're glued!

It doesn't help since i'm always the one looking like I got the tinfoil hat.

@puk34lot same my wife doesnt care and doesnt want to be bothered with it, I keep saying that theyre taking away everything that made the internet amazing. And we should invest in open source. Me on the other hand im looking to get rid of my android smartphone thanks to Google screwing it up for me.
