The thing I like about communicating through email is that there's no extra fluff or small talk, emails are straightforward and the person writing gets to the point fast without dilly dally. As it takes relative time for the person to read and respond, bare minimum important info is presented.

They make me less anxious to respond since there's no pressure to reply rightaway like instant messaging.
I wonder this is similar to how letters used to be?
