We need punk rock and heavy metal now more than ever.
@HailsandAles the amount of great punk and metal coming out is truly staggering and yeah, for good reason

@HailsandAles @jake4480 ok, how are you finding this new punk & metal?

I'll hate if you say the streaming services

@Irishmasms @HailsandAles heheh uh.. no. No streaming other than Bandcamp or YouTube (sigh) sometimes. With ads blocked. But as for DISCOVERY, it comes from here, Bandcamp is big (the app gives KILLER suggestions) - and also (another sigh) Instagram. Almost every band is on Instagram, unfortunately. I follow my faves there, look at who they play with, flyers, recs from artists, I get a LOT that way.

I wrote this 2 years ago on my process, and it's still basically the same (just with adding even more Bandcamp into the mix, via the app): https://spacetimetech.wordpress.com/2024/03/03/finding-new-music-tips-and-tricks

@jake4480 Excellent read. Glad there's Metallum mentioned. I really love it.
@sharan hahaa thank you! It was interesting to put together and I hoped someone could find at least part of it useful 😂
