Sorry Brent and the half dozen other inquirers, Loops and Pixelfed is not for sale!

I'd be lost without my babies, and even though I'm scraping by financially and could really use that money, I don't think I could live with myself if I sold out.

The #Fediverse deserves leaders who remain ethical and loyal to building better, safer social web alternatives.

We're funded by people like you ❤️

#Pixelfed #Loops #NotForSale

@dansup Bro can still start his own Loops instance lol
@dansup
Wouldn't it basically be selling a VM with Loops installed? Maybe do it, spin up another one. It's not like you'd be selling the rights to the software.
@dansup
Also clearly a scambot

@dansup

It's like Marshall Allen said when fans offered to pay for repairs to th Sun Ra House: "If I was doing this for the money, I would have done something else long ago." 😊

His counter-offer: hire us to bring our message to your community!

@dansup rookie mistake not to ask for the valuation, would have been fun to see
@dansup they are good dogs Brent
@dansup Maybe I'm missing something, but isn't the whole idea of the fediverse that none of it is sellable because none of it is actually owned by one central authority?
This is just the same spam you get at any startup. The “scam” is they are just information brokers, not venture capitalists. To give you the “valuation” they ask for a bunch of inside knowledge about your operation and employees, which they sell to the various “startup tracker” websites. And the dark web if you give them enough info. They’ll be like “we need to do background checks on you and your employees for our potential investors” and ask for W2 records and SSN and bank deposit info, etc.
#whatsapp confounders later admitted they regretted selling to #Facebook which is why they joined @signalapp

@dansup thank you for including your support link so that we grateful humans can chip in a little bit!

Peeps of fediverse, you know what to do; don’t leave Dan hanging!
