Sean Harding@mwichary Did they ever? I was in charge of the Amazon iPad apps (non-Kindle) for a while, and we were terrified of this, but I'm not sure if it was actually backed up by action. My hunch is that they never enforced it well, and companies finally realized that and started exploiting it...
@mwichary I should add to this... I personally was always vehemently opposed to promotions via push notification. So I found the fear of Apple punishing us for doing it to be a very useful tool when I had to convince others in the company that we shouldn't even consider going down that path.
