I can confirm the gap is still there. Just unfilled by iconic tree.
The nearby museum / nature centre has some remains of the tree. Very aesthetically presented.

Wen@Andii @wisegreyowl There are several (and the odd temple) along the route. Our daughter and her partner ran it last summer and I was tasked with dropping them off in the east (with our dug), meeting them and paying for dinner part of the way along and the collecting them at the western end. But I did make use of the trip to reacquaint myself with the museums.
