Yesterday I decalcified my Moccamaster, also gave it a cleaning cycle to remove the coffee oils and I took the WMF coffee grinder apart to give it a thorough cleaning too. This morning I enjoyed the result. A damn fine cup of Libertad coffee :) #Mehpost
depone@jwildeboer keeping everything clean that is involved in preparing coffee is indeed key for having an excellent cup of coffee. We are having hard water here as well, therefore I only use filtered water and am able to decide if the filter needs to be changed based on the taste of my coffee. Highly recommended ☕️

30 years ago I bought an Italian Saeco bean-to-cup 14 bar, espresso machine. Electromechanical. And simple. I was advised to use only filtered water. Which I did. After 26 years of daily use with Munich water, and never de-calking, ever, it was still working well. Just a bit leaky. So I upgraded. And still always filter the water in the new one. Which has electronics this time. LED lights. But no essential OLED display, showing cup filling animations.
So I'm hugely convinced of filtering Munich water.
