I’m looking for a good looking, sturdy, and practical solution that can hold carabiners around my neck/chest to hang bird bags on (for bird banding) when transporting them from the nets to banding station. Any creative people who have some tips on what I could get?

Last year I used a simple rope “necklace” with carabiners, which worked well but looked meh.

Am googling “harness”, “chest harness”, “tool harness” etc. thinking I could sew the carabiners on, but I’m getting either kink results or things that are way too big for what I need (like for carpenters) 😕

A classic fly fishing vest will usually have a couple D rings for carabiners, but it sounds like you may need more than that?

@birdsarah Honestly, weirdly, kink results may be what you need. There may be a local leathersmith near you who works on this sort of stuff for that community, who may be able to make a custom harness for your needs. There's one in Montpelier, VT that would do that work, and I've heard of other photographers also getting custom harnesses made.

@birdsarah this sounds kind of similar to some things I've seen for #LRP. A potion bandolier might do it.

This one from a UK maker will give you some idea. This one goes on the strap of a shoulder bag, many come on their own belt. Obviously, you'd be hanging bird bags rather than potion bottles, but it might be worth exploring?
