PuntarellaInspiring day @2dh5, in Utrecht today.
2dh5 is an activist festival/conference, this years edition under the title "Building collective(s) tools for an anti-fascist future".
In three locations, @ACU.nl, BAK and Moira, two dozen workshops were held today and a party tonight and another series of workshops is following tomorrow.
@2dh5 I started the day with a presentation and discussion called 'beyond the binaries: Iran and Palestine'.
Todays events made this space even more valuable.
How can we support the Iranian people and counter imperialism, zionism and the current (or past?) Iranian regime all at once?
And how to engage with the heavily fractured Iranian diaspora?
Trying to be informed and mourning the unnecessary deaths seems to be the most promising route.

@2dh5 After an amazing dinner cooked by the bak-kitchen and some time to check out the various bookstalls I attented a presentation by the authors of "Radical Abundance" about how Public-Common-Partnerships could provide a structural framework to counter capitalist investment power and start building the necessary reproductive infrastructure to dismantle the current capitalist system.
@2dh5 My last workshop of today was hosted in a quite comforting sphere - very welcome towards the end of such a day.
'Support & Resistance' guided us into an exploration of symptoms and (systemic) causes of activist burnout culture.

Besides following two workshops, I got to have a look at some more of the info-/book-/zine-/...-stalls and get some nice posters.
Even though I missed the workshop, I could not resist to get a copy of the new board game 'Billiionaires and Guillotines' by Max Haiven:

@2dh5 The first workshop I joined on Sunday was 'Luddites Anon' with Fred Wordie.
In a carefully prepared workshop with beautiful hand-outs made one by one on a typewriter, we reflected about our everyday use of (internet and communication) technology.
After a short exchange on potential technology-less methods to complete the task/meet our need, we took 20 minutes to write a short story about a world in which we use this alternative.
Personally, this reflection made me realize how my use of digital libraries such as Anna's Archive made me neglect the existence of my local library.
@2dh5 My attendance at this years #2dh5 in #Utrecht ended with a talk about the current dynamics in #Rojava.
Very impressive talk, solely based on questions and interventions from the attendants due to technical problems with the projector.
Even though a lot of the presentation required a (too) deep pre-existing knowledge about the situation, I could take along some thoughts. And the impression that not only the ideas of democratic confederalism continue to spread around, but also the actually practiced autonomous organization i still standing strong - partly due to the received attention all over the world.
