we are so vulkan v1.2
i am sending this from a laptop which came out 10 years ago (my previous one is from 15 years ago), the specifications are maybe twice as bad so i am using alpine linux and wayland to compensate, it has vulkan and the battery holds a charge though, so it is more of a trade-off than a downgrade

this got a bit of attention so i think i should show the previous laptop for reference
the cursor is custom and just replaces the default adwaita arrow with a cat face arrow, but the rest is adwaita
@sylvie wow, this looks great! Guess I'm not the only one who thinks this is a good idea :)
#ALpineLinux and #NetBSD are the only OSes that keep my very old machines (turning 20 years old this year!) still running.

@kzimmermann i was wondering if you were still alive and ended up reading a bit of your stuff, the story of running NetBSD on that 700MHz 500MiB RAM pi and finding out xorg was not only preinstalled but worked really well was unexpected
ill mention your articles on tilde.town still point at your fosstodon account and your primary website seems to be down
@sylvie yeah I'm still alive, albeit with a lot less time for fedi (and, sadly, experimentation) since getting a job. I also moved again, and the internet setup in this accommodation doesn't allow me to port forward unlike my previous ones. So no more (direct) self-hosting for now. Tor might be still working.
