Sean Harding@mwichary Did they ever? I was in charge of the Amazon iPad apps (non-Kindle) for a while, and we were terrified of this, but I'm not sure if it was actually backed up by action. My hunch is that they never enforced it well, and companies finally realized that and started exploiting it...
@sharding Yeah, not sure about enforcement but I believe this was explicitly prohibited.
@mwichary Yeah, my (potentially faulty) memory is that it was prohibited, but a few companies flagrantly violated it without consequence, and eventually everyone started doing it.
