@ironicsans something like 400ms after each keyboard press. I'm using the new dimming keyboard and this is on an iphone 17 pro max (since I know mobile dev is a bear and a half!).
@afeinman That's not expected behavior. Are you in “zoomed-in" mode or normal mode? In zoomed-in mode there's an automatic pan that lasts about 180ms, which might feel longer. And if you're swapping out an existing letter, there's a letter-swap animation that might add a feeling of lag. And if you have word-highlighting on, there may be something else going on.
Do any of the above apply?
@ironicsans Not zoomed in. It's noticeable when for example trying to backspace to delete a whole wrong word. Might be closer to 200ms now that I can just spam the key and get a better feel.
Feels like it's waiting for some sort of animation before letting me tap again. (Wild guess: whatever is going on to enable/disable the keys)
@ironicsans hmm. I have the same behavior with the filtering feature turned off, so maybe not that.

@ironicsans Aha. Browser issue. I was using DuckDuckGo. Feels snappy using Safari.
(Now I'm wondering what is going on in their JS engine...)
@afeinman interesting. I thought all iOS browsers are Safari WebKit under the hood, with other features on top. I’ll look into this. Thanks for figuring that out!
