This fucking world, etm.

@gdinwiddie I think only “etc.” is interchangeable with “etm.” The others have a slightly different meaning for me.

But I’m not a native speaker, I might be wrong about this.

@elnecesario @gdinwiddie you are correct. The text in the image says “just like” to suggest it’s another abbreviation of a Latin phrase, not that they are alike in meaning or use.
@gdinwiddie organic fertilizers, e.g. compost, ash, bone meal, etm.
@vrtxd @gdinwiddie
hooman: what an awful smell of cat pee here!
cat: etm.
@gdinwiddie Just to appease the Latin scholars in the studio audiences, yes we all know it’s a calque (word-for-word translation) of the English idiom "and shit" into Latin and this is not actually a real Latin expression or abbreviation. Shush now, let people enjoy things.
@monkeyninja 👍🏼🤣 The more people use it, the more official it becomes! 😉 @gdinwiddie

@gdinwiddie YAY! I'm now 1 brain-cell smarter ... etm.

This is definitely getting worked into the CV, one way or another.

@gdinwiddie I’m going to sign off all communications with, ‘…and so on, etc. etm. atm.’

@gdinwiddie

Ai aaaaai. Aaaai. Aaaai

@gdinwiddie Seems like use without a comma would be more common etm.

@gdinwiddie

Interestingly, ETM is the name of my wifi network 😅, but it means "Enter The Matrix" here (and all the machines connected to it are named after Matrix characters).

@gdinwiddie

I've always loved the "&c" notation used in bygone days, despite modern writing tools, in their narrow geek minds, believing this to be a typo. I will now be adding "&m" to my repertoire 🤣

@gdinwiddie @dnanian added to quiver. Deep bow, etm.
@gdinwiddie @abetterjulie i was able to sneak it into a byline for a series of articles i wrote over a year
