anyone know if there's a good SVN or P4 plugin for #blender ? (or any other revision control system where you can lock files centrally)

EDIT: idk if either of these are good, but I found plugins for both immediately after posting this.

SVN: https://studio.blender.org/tools/addons/blender_svn

P4: https://help.perforce.com/helix-core/helix-dam/current/Content/HelixDAM-User/integrating-with-Blender-installing.html

I'm interested in Opinions and Experience though if you've used either.

@aeva realizing, as i start to plan an year of focused gamedev derusting then learning, that, actually, setting up a SVN server in a managed machine does not sound like a crazy idea...

edit: that conclusion is independent of your post, it was just an interestingly timed coincidence ☺️ spent some hours yesterday researching what could i use of i don't want to use git 😂

@gureito @aeva
I was totally thrown by the use of the term "derusting" here

@kirtai @aeva ESL /shrugs

any relations to the programming language are not intended. probably. ☺️

@gureito I came to the conclusion that git was not suitable for tracking art a while back, and after keeping my ear to the ground for years in hopes of finding free alternatives and coming up with nothing I realized the Blender folks are still using SVN for their various short film and occasional game projects.
