@ldottxt @Yuriel I used to write about Linux for a living 25 years ago.
I was largely ambivalent toward it until recently now certain portions of the community are absolutely fucking unbearable.
I have even seen bellends on here saying don't interact with them if you use Windows.
This sort of idiotic OS zealotry is pathetic.
All operating systems are shit. End of story.

That said, yeah, Mint is one of the easier distros to get up and running. I dabbled with it before settling on Fedora for most of my stuff. Honestly, it's whatever feels best to use and supports your hardware, they are all fine.
@dunny0 @retrosponge I was told I didn't even need to bother installing it, dual booting, partitions or any crap.
That I could just try it booting off a USB stick to test drive it.
@retrosponge @Yuriel @dunny0 if you want a computer to do what you want, you have to be able to tell it how, and few people both want and are able to do that
@retrosponge @Yuriel I wouldn’t say it runs like ass. It’s not as quick as if it were installed on the hard drive, but it’s good enough to make sure your hardware works and get a feel for the OS and desktop environment.

That is one thing I will give Linux that I really like.
And honestly if I had two computers I used regular the I would have one with Windows and one with Linux.
But I need my desktop on Windows for gaming and a bunch of other software and my tablet doesn't play nice with Linux. Neither does my laptop.

I remember when I was writing about it for a living and there were people then going on about how Linux was the new thing and it was going to replace Windows within three years or whatever.
And now they're trying to convince people to switch because gaming is really good now.
