Less than 12 hours have passed since the onset of conflicts and war in Iran, and as predicted by the Islamic Republic of Iran's habitual behavior, the internet has been cut off for the public.

Drawing from past experiences, people have once again recognized the power of #DeltaChat, leading to a widespread surge in setting up relays and internal DeltaChat servers.

Following education on SMTP connection options, the number of DeltaChat users has significantly increased, as low-cost alternatives like email hosting allow the general public to create DeltaChat accounts or utilize domestic email services.

Currently, based on conducted assessments, among other messaging apps and filtering bypass options such as applications like BitChat and Bluetooth-based models DeltaChat users report higher satisfaction with connectivity.

According to reports from servers of groups we are in contact with, it is estimated that approximately 2 million people have established communications via relays, and about 500,000 through SMTP methods using DeltaChat.

This is a conservative estimate, and we know the actual numbers are far higher; today, as I write this report, various developer groups from cities and villages across Iran have launched diverse DeltaChat relays and maintained connections using SMTP approaches.

We maintain direct contact with around 270 server administrators, and we are aware that the number of such groups exceeds our contact statistics by a wide margin.

At present, Iran's domestic internet remains connected; however, in scenarios where the internet is truly severed, no alternative communication channels will be available.

Personally, I hold little hope for application models beyond BitChat, as I don't believe Bluetooth mesh networks can sustain provincial or national communications—even neighborhood-level connections seem challenging. This isn't a technical critique; it's about the limitations of physical distance and Bluetooth support capabilities.
