I work in IT, and ever since AI came along, I feel like my enthusiasm for tech has plummeted.
I recently saw an article about a local guy who gave up his IT career and started a local café, and I have to admit, it sounded pretty sweet.
I am looking more and more into practical hobbies, and as I wrote this, I have decided to try and build a small detailed model railway in a suitcase this year.

CorrectAliasI agree and am on the same page. For a year or two I’ve wanted to leave tech (which is crazy since it’s been my hobby for basically my entire life). I’d love to start a cafe, maybe get into woodworking, or something outside. The problem is that I feel like I have no practical skills outside of tech stuff.
I’ve also considered starting my own tech consulting business for local companies, because at least then I’d have control over use of “AI” bullshit.
