The ISP I worked for ran several servers in oil for cooling to cut energy use.

And another ten years before that, a buddy of mine built an aquarium for his computer. It had a front part filled with water where tiny mechanical fish swam around. And then a main part, with the actual computer, filled with oil. You couldn't see the glass plate between due to matching light refraction properties. (Was a real pain to move it!)

Would probably avoid olive oil though...

@loren the amount of times friends and family ask me to fix their computers and its just like....
unoiled, bone dry
no seasoning
not a single basil leaf in sight
barely any parmesan

and they wonder why they cant open their emails 🙄
