Good question. I suggested it as a sort of corollary of my proposal for the opening of the next regular season, which needs to be set immediately after The Reality War in May 2025, from both UNIT's perspective and The Doctor's perspective, making it really awkward to put something set at Christmas in between, and it gets slightly less awkward if The Doctor isn't involved (and, for that matter, if UNIT aren't involved). #DoctorWho

I think the Doctor needs to just get off-world for a while. Spend an entire season elsewhere and elsewhen. Even pick up a companion or two who isn't 21st century human.

@faduda @Euan My view is that there's so much unfinished business around Ruby's foundlinging and apparent reality-bending abilities that it will be very difficult not to bring back Ruby as the main companion for the next season or two. 1/3 #DoctorWho

@faduda @Euan My proposal for the next season revolves around two ideas: firstly, Church on Ruby Road/Legend of Ruby Sunday is the first of a long series of incidents in which UNIT's use of the time window causes dramatic events, either by altering the events they're watching or by their reaction to what they see; 2/3 #DoctorWho

@faduda @Euan 3/3 secondly, that Ruby is herself a pantheon god (recall we learned in Wish World that a pantheon god can be born to normal human parents), whose special domain is absorbing the capabilities of other pantheon gods she encounters. 3/3 #DoctorWho
