It's not an addiction... we can stop any time we want...

Funny enough, I’ve never bought any models for exactly this reason. Am poor, have mercy 😭

I got into Warhammer by proxy - all the associated media. And I have some friends who do buy plastic crack.

Ive never understood why not fuck games workshop and 3d print. Its gotta pay for itself eventually.
Because there would probably be complaints about quality, people are used to resin cast models
They have 3d resin printers. They print very high quality from what i’ve seen. Are those not good enough yet?
I wasn’t assuming that’s what OP meant
A well calibrated resin printer produces minis whose quality are leaps and bounds above the cast ones. The problem is that printing technology doesn’t scale too well (and Games Workshop are terrified of disrupting a market they mostly control).
Check out One Page Rules (OPR). All models are released for printing, the quality is top notch, the rules are straightforward, the developers are deeply engaged with the community, and the game is fairly balanced.

These are called proxy games and people do em all the time, they’re great. Sure beats spending $100+ on a tac-squad.

The only drawbacks are that the models aren’t as pretty and they aren’t tournament legal, but I’m never going to win a tournament and I don’t care about graphics in my games. GW can suck one, I’m doing just fine with my quarters and bottle cap minis.
