Trump confirms US has launched 'major combat' operations in Iran, as explosions reported in Tehran
Trump says 'there will likely be more' US deaths as Iran strikes to continue until 'all' goals achieved

Three American service members have been killed and casualties are reported in the UAE, Israel and Kuwait as Israel and Iran continue to trade strikes.

The Fars news agency reports that explosions were heard in the cities of Isfahan, Qom, Karaj, and Kermanshah.

The news agency has also reported that several missiles hit University Street and the Republic area of the Iranian capital Tehran.

Israel has woken up this morning at war with Iran for the second time in less than a year.

Iran's state news channel IRINN subsequently aired pre-recorded footage of pro-establishment rallies accompanied by music and archive remarks from Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei calling for unity against "enemies", alongside interviews with supporters of the Islamic Republic opposing foreign intervention.
Trump has urged Iranians to "take over" the Iranian government, saying "it will be yours to take. This will be probably your only chance for generations"

V BBC Persian Jiyar Gol:
The office of Iran’s Supreme Leader and the presidential office in Tehran were also reportedly targeted.

Military sites have been targeted in Kermanshah, Qum, Isfahan, Tabriz, Karaj and as well as at Iranian naval facilities in Kenarak in the south of the country. A video we have received from the small city of Kamyaran in Kurdish region, shows an IRGC base is bombed.

V BBC Persian:
In Iran, the response to the attacks has been deeply mixed, with scenes of panic in some areas and relief in others at the prospect of the regime’s downfall.
Many Iranians who lived through what has been described as one of the bloodiest crackdowns on civilians in modern history say they now welcome regime change -

even if it comes through military intervention and the killing of senior officials.

Others, however, fear that airstrikes alone may not bring about the regime’s collapse. They worry it could survive and, in response, become even more brutal towards its own people.

Jordan, which borders Israel, says its armed forces shot down two ballistic missiles targeting its territory. An official told the AFP news agency there was no casualties but only material damage.

Trump has just announced that Iran's Ayatollah Khamenei has been killed. From his post on Truth Social:

Khamenei, one of the most evil people in History, is dead. He was unable to avoid our Intelligence and Highly Sophisticated Tracking Systems and, working closely with Israel, there was not a thing he, or the other leaders that have been killed along with him, could do.

This is the single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their Country. We are hearing that many of their IRGC, Military, and other Security and Police Forces, no longer want to fight... As I said last night, “Now they can have Immunity, later they only get Death!”
The heavy and pinpoint bombing, however, will continue, uninterrupted throughout the week or, as long as necessary to achieve our objective of PEACE THROUGHOUT THE MIDDLE EAST AND, INDEED, THE WORLD!

Reza Pahlavi, the exiled son of Iran's last shah, has welcomed the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

"Ali Khamenei, the bloodthirsty Zahhak of our time, the killer of tens of thousands of Iran’s bravest sons and daughters, has been erased. With his death, the Islamic Republic has effectively come to an end..."

Pahlavi discouraged Iranian officials from appointing a successor and warned that it was the military, security and police forces "last chance" to join the people.

@fulelo Can we hear from li'l Bobby Amin, or Pol Pot Jr.?

@fulelo Seems like he truly has gone for the ‘war is peace’ approach. To the extent that he can be said to have any sort of coherent approach to anything, anyway.

Given that he's the chair-for-life, I suppose this is a taster of the so-called Board of Peace's interventions to come.

@fulelo A little bit less regime change propaganda and a little more concern for the victims would be welcome.
