Finding myself getting tired of online discourse. If you read a book or a magazine or see a live show, nobody's trying to nag or cajole you or draft you into some online war of ideas; it's just you engaging with the art and the artist. Especially with how robotic the internet is becoming lately, I think live performances, zines, etc are due for a comeback.

To be concrete: I'm a longtime subscriber to The Sun and I'm a huge fan: https://www.thesunmagazine.org/

Harper's has also been quite good lately. And I've been enjoying some local theater and dance shows in the Seattle area; Meany Center at UW always has tons. I'm open to suggestions from others in the Seattle area!

The Sun Magazine

In each issue of The Sun you’ll find some of the most radically intimate and socially conscious writing being published today. In an age of media conglomerates, we’re something of an oddity: an ad-free, independent, reader-supported magazine.

@nolan there is a good crust punk scene in Seattle, but I'm not sure that's what you're looking for^^
