Starting today 2.28 p.m. (see the symbolism?), a documentary about Taiwan’s democracy movement will be on Youtube. Hand in Hand 牽阮的手.
I saw it in the cinema back in 2011, but I need to revisit it.

Back then, the Taipei Times described in a review that the film "centers on the love story of a married couple, both democracy activists, its storyline intertwines with that of major democratic movements and social incidents that took place in Taiwan at the time."

The review went on: "What transcends the romance is the director’s ambition to join the personal and the political, bringing the country’s past to life through the stories of individuals who lived trough it. [...] 'How does the 228 Incident have anything to do with me?' The question is answered in Hand in Hand, a must-see for anyone interested in the history of Taiwan’s democracy movement, and even more important for those who don’t think it affects them."
