Cosmos as a Soyuz space capsule!
I love Cosmos and I wanted to give him an Earth mode. It was hard to chose one, because nothing is really much like his original flying saucer mode. Space shuttle is also an air and space vehicle, but there's already several.
I chose the Soyuz because its a spacecraft that isn't a shuttle, the re-entry capsule is a little UFO-like, Cosmos feels soviet coded to me, and the USSR called every sattelite "Kosmos" followed by a number.
Helicopter, quadcopter, and hovercraft were other vehicles I considered. None felt right.
I also considered old NASA space capsules, because they kind of look like flying saucers, but they're always silver and it felt wrong to chose a NASA space capsule over a Soviet one.
I considered using just the gumdrop shaped Soyuz re-entry capsule but it was too boring. So I went with the whole space craft.
Now Cosmos just has to worry about starting WWIII if he tries to visit his friends in the USA.
Someone on Bluesky suggested a fan-mode where you turn his removable solar panels into a lawn chair. I loved the idea of Cosmos relaxing in orbit so I painted it up.
Cosmos deserves a break.
