People who claim to be "Christian" who listen to some gasbag clergy about what they should believe and who they should hate rather than reading their Bible and actually following what it says there (specifically, the New Testament Christ's Gospel part with that whole "love thy neighbor as thyself", not the Old Testament Jewish part) are just fooling themselves, they're not fooling the rest of us. They're no more Christian than the average Satanist. #religion
@badtux Satanists, as popularly imagined (not counting the Church of Satan, which is its own quasi-libertarian thing) behave like fundamentalist christians in every significant respect except they follow the wrong flag. With authoritarians like the Christian fundies who believe in Satanism, it's *always* projection and every accusation is a confession. Treat fundies like an evil satanic cult and you'll apprehend them correctly.
I was raised Fundie but Thank God I'm an Atheist.

I'd like to add the footnote that, in the U.S., "After-School Satan" is doing good work. Their charter is to provide an alternative to hatred-based Fundie indoctrination and I way support that. I rather like "Satan's Guide to the Bible" as well.

Satanism may have cults comparable to those found among the Fundies. Note: I'm qualified to say that the latter are a murderous lot indeed. But I feel that Satanism in general is more nuanced and far healthier than Fundamentalism.

In short, Make Mine Satan, Stan, Satan isn't an Also-Ran, Of Satan I am a Fan.
