It's #NFL #combine weekend, so you know what time it is. Time to flex on these young lions and show em that unc strength is still different! I'm old but I still have that fire in me!👴🏿

The strength test at the NFL combine is "How many times can you bench 225 lbs?" For me the answer is 42 times.

No, I don't take steroids, or pro-hormones, or any performance enhancing drugs. But thanks for asking.

No, I don't judge people that do. Make your own choices in life.👍🏿

A lot of these NFL players are on PEDs. Happens. They still can't see me in the weight room.

Bench 225 lbs x 42 reps

I'm literally twice as strong as the average NFL player. Your heroes are not my heroes.

NFL football players are not the strongest, or the fastest, or the toughest, or the best at tackling. Football is a highly specific skill. They are the best at playing NFL football. That's a lot to be proud of!

But when I tell you that I lift with world record holding powerlifters, and that powerlifter strength is different? I know what I'm talking about.

When I tell you that I box with professional boxers, and that boxer skill is different? I know what I'm talking about.

Track speed? Different.

There are 319 NFL Combine participants. The question is, will any of them do better than 42 reps at 225 lbs on the strength test?

Some years, the answer is no. Other years, it's only 1 or 2 athletes.

So far, first place is 37 reps.

I only have to worry about the offensive line, defensive line, linebackers, and fullbacks.

I don't have to worry about quarterbacks, wide receivers, tight ends, running backs, cornerbacks, kickers, punters, or other prey species.

At least one player in the NFL Combine this year is powerlifter strong. Kadyn "Krispy" Proctor. Krispy because he likes donuts.

My estimate for him is somewhere between 42 and 45 reps. And yes, I do believe that he is PED free.

Here's baby Kadyn in high school. Powerlifter strength is different.
