I want my file transfer apps to offer cloud storage convenience with lower privacy and monetary costs, and I've been working on making photo backup as simple as possible.

Now there's something ready for iOS/Mac + FTP/S3 that I've found useful — but I need your input. Try it out and tell me what would make it perfect for your workflow.

@palmin Great stuff! Some questions: should it be enabled on only one device for the same source → destination or can it be enabled from multiple?
Which version of the photo does it backup? Since Apple Photos edit are non destructive, the edits are in a separate file.
So you recommend a solution (S3-like vs FTPS vs SFTP)? Which one is better for backup speed and which is faster to browse?

@loicwolff You would only have a single device doing the backup.

Whether S3 or FTP is better depends on what you have available.

Generally SFTP / FTP is less expensive but slower than S3 unless you backup straight to Glacier that makes S3 inexpensive but also much less flexible.

@palmin Did you remove the backup stuff from Testflight?

@loicwolff I did.

I’m rethinking the folder structure to make it practical to browse backups in the Files app while backing up everything to allow a full restore and want to minimize how many use the old structure.
