Dang that is a good lookin' desktop.  I switched over to #Fedora from the SUSE and it was super smooth.

The very few issues I ran into with SUSE have disappeared now that I  am on Fedora.  Hopefully this will be the end game for this PC.

@jlw_the_jobber any details on the issue with suse? i just installed it on my notebook and have been considering a suse server distro for my homelab

@jlw_the_jobber

Heh, I misread that first as "I don't have any issues with SUSE anymore now that I'm on Fedora". XD

@amin Since they both use RPM packages they feel pretty similar.

The weird way SUSE handles printer set up and that my current commercial vpn is not supported on SUSE were the last two pushes that made me leave.

SUSE isn’t bad, but does have the same level of support as Fedora.  It’s also the reason I tried to install Debian first before Fedora.

@jlw_the_jobber

This was Slowroll, right? Did you test with Leap or Tumbleweed?

@amin I had Tumbleweed as well and had the same issues. I didn’t try Leap on the main pc as it kind of bored me on the little nuc I tested it out on.

@jlw_the_jobber I like Fedora. It's a very polished experience from the get go, and everything just kinda works (unless you need proprietary stuff, but even that is super easy to add in).

This is all the more remarkable when you consider it's about as close to cutting edge as point release systems can be.

@jlw_the_jobber here I am saying I haven’t had issues since moving to SUSE. Hope it works out for you.

I saw your comment about printers, and they’re always hard to even for my local network printer, I got it barely to connect with the USB. Other distros just install it with CUPs and moves on.
@clayton That was one of the weird hangups that I was able to get over, but it still bothered me.
